20:00-01:00 Separatist Club F*ck the grabs! // at Smålands // LIVE Spader Kung & Kvinnliga Situationen + DJs

(NOTE: THIS EVENT IS WOMEN AND TRANS SEPARATIST !!)

FUCK THE GRABS! – Ta semester från patriarkatet! ⚧

***TIMETABLE***

We will have a nice vegan dinner together between 20 and 21, followed by concerts 21:30-22:45, and then we’ll hit the dancefloor.

“Fuck The Grabs!” is your slam against the patriarchy and the cis-normative world. We are tired of compromising on a system that refuses to listen to us and makes false promises of improvement! It does not take into account our experiences and our struggle. We are tired of being silent when people scream at us in town, when cat-calling is our everyday life and when cis-men take the right to decide where the limits are for our bodies and our integrity.

These are our bodies, our lives, and our struggle! Together we fight back, find solidarity and regain power over our lives!

Our DJs and Bands will deliver top-notch tunes and a revolutionary dancefloor, where we can scream for our right to dance and sing all night without feeling observed and unsafe as we so often do. Together we create a space where we can let loose and retrieve strength from each other. Don’t miss your chance to leave the patriarchy behind!

16:00-18:00 Film Screening | “Everything’s coming together while everything’s falling apart”

On Sunday, 24 November, join Smålands for a special screening of Oliver Ressler’s film project “Everything’s coming together while everything’s falling apart” in the framework of KPV!

“Everything’s coming together while everything’s falling apart” is an ongoing film project by Austrian visual artist and filmmaker Oliver Ressler, that follows the climate movement through key events. From COP21 in Paris to Ende Gelände and from ZAD to the Code Rood, the camera moves together with the protestors, actively participating in the climate justice anticapitalist struggle.

As the filmmaker states: “the title “Everything’s coming together while everything’s falling apart” refers to a situation in which all the technology needed to end the age of fossil fuel already exists. Whether the present ecological, social and economic crisis will be overcome is primarily a question of political power. The climate movement is now stronger than ever. It obstructed pipeline projects such as the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline. It stopped Arctic drilling and blocked fracking all over the globe. Coal-fired power plants were shut down by resistance, and the divestment movement that pressures institutions to unload their stocks from fossil fuel corporations has had successes.”

During a period of ongoing resistance, the film offers an original and contemporary view on the current eco-movements. Apart from the existinf short films, further episodes are planned to be added.

The screening will start at 16.00, it’s free and open to everyone, and popcorns will be served. At the end of the screening, there will be a short discussion and everyone is welcome to contribute.

Monday 25/11

16:00-19:15 Post-colonial politics lecture & Jupiter Child art performance

Smålands Nation invites you to a lecture about post-colonial politics by Rahel Weldeab Sehbatu, followed by a performance by the artist Jupiter Child.
More details to come, save the date !

This event is part of the Cultural Political Week (KPV) at Smålands Nation. It is a yearly event which consists on 10 days of lectures, workshops, and clubs around politics and art. See the whole program here: https://www.facebook.com/events/425455898112878/
Free entrance !

Lecture:
Rahel Weldeab Sehbatu is a PhD candidate in Global Politics at the Department of Global Political Studies at Malmö University. She received her masters at Lund University’s Graduate School in Global Studies, with major on Political Science. Her research interests include postcolonial feminism, postcolonial theory, decoloniality, negotiation theory, diplomacy, critical security studies, (youth participation in) peacebuilding, Pan-Africanism, transnational activism and resistance.

Performance:
Jupiter Child is a Mozambican-born artist, residing in Copenhagen. A multifaceted performer and visual artist. Drawing inspiration from black history, their Makonde ancestry, Jupiter combines theater, dance, song, spoken word and storytelling. Jupiter´s art is an anti-colonial intervention that speaks of resistance, womanism, migration, queerness and empowerment.

Creativity is an ancient intuition. Art is a modern institution. I use creativity to claim space in the world, to tell the stories of my life and the lives before me. I write about blackness to challenge the misconceptions of my identity. My creativity is political and unapologetic and is meant to inspire others to this creative common world.

Poem extract:
we scratched the bottom until our nails fell off
we lost a grip of hope for a moment, but yet did not give up
for those we carried on our backs
those we wrapped in our rags of desperation
frustration, retaliation and damnation
we held them above the waters
ready to drown with pride, we were ready to fall at the shores of freedom
cause our determination stood tall and firm, still holding the torch of our conviction

I´ve been eaten by a quick sands ,of dumped to “wonderland”
far from my motherland, longing a fatherland?
he sold me this dreamland, cast me beyond swaziland
to the end of times , to the borderline between
day and night, now and never, heaven and hell
good and evil ,love and hate, light and dark, human and computer
between our world and others, sanity and insanity ,captive and free.

18:00-20:00 The Political Ecologies of the Far Right

Case-study talk + discussion

The starting point of the research is that we see today two major trends at work: rapidly rising temperatures and rapid advances of the far right. What happens when they meet? How is the far right dealing with climate issues in Europe and beyond? How are the concepts of nation, race, identity and gender articulated around that topic?

Some members of the Zetkin Collective will share their research and insights on several case-studies on both European and non-European countries (extact list to be confirmed). The talks will be followed by a time to discuss all together.

19:00-20:00 Fully Automated Luxury Communism: A Political-ecological critique

Aaron Bastani’s book ‘Fully Automated Luxury Communism: A Manifesto’ has drawn the attention of the broad left, as an answer to current crises in economy, ecology and politics. Bastani’s messages of a bright future for all has inspired hope in an otherwise hopeless world. But how feasibly is this “manifesto”? A member of Autonom Organisering will briefly present some of the main points of Bastani’s book, and present a critique of these from the perspective of political-ecology. The ambition of this presentation is to continue the conversation about what future paths are both possible and desirable for an active left.

This event is organized together with Autonom Organisering

18:00-20:00 Try feminist self defense

Welcome to a workshop given by instructors from Feministiskt Självförsvar

!!Note: This event is only for those who identify themselves as a woman!!

Feminist self-defense differs from other self-defense because it is separatistic and is based on feminist ideology. The feminist self-defense is divided into several parts; including a discussion section, a physical part, and a legal part. We put great emphasis on discussing the gender power order and living as a girl in today’s society as well as strengthening girls as individuals and as a group. Through the feminist self-defense, we create a separatist room for all who define themselves as girls where we can discuss our own experiences, strengthen each other and find common strategies without any guy disturbing. No pre-registration is required, but just pop up. Bring a friend, mom, sister or grandmother – all girls are welcome!

Entrance: Free.
